Christmas & New Year Greetings

The Foundation wishes all Honorary Members, Fellows and Readers of our Newsletters a most Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year.

WIF Honorary Member Professor David Gross is the 2004 Nobel Prize Laureate for Physics

Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. David Gross
Professor Dr. David Gross a WIF member for nearly two-years has been awarded the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics. It is heartening to know that over the last few years three eminent scientists within the WIF’s ranks have received a Nobel Prize in the sciences. It is hoped that many more WIF consultants will receive the world’s highest scientific recognition in the years to come for their leading-edge discovery and research work.

Further 2004 Nobel Laureate Joins the Foundation as a Global Consultant

Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. Avram Hershko
Professor Dr. Avram Hershko, the 2004 Nobel Laureate for Chemistry, has accepted Honorary Membership of the World Innovation Foundation. It is hoped that Dr. Hershko’s and other WIF scientists from Israel can forge a far better future world for all the people of the Middle-East. Through cooperation, help and understanding science can become in this century the great levelling resource that has the potential to bring about peace. In this respect great scientists are seen as a formidable force for good in the 21st century and beyond. Shalom.

The Foundation considers that these special people in concert will have a profound effect on future WIF global consultations. In this respect the WIF is entering a phase within its development where the global membership now numbering between 2,000 and 3,000 creative individuals will start to interact with many of the world leading institutions.

Raising the WIF's international profile
In November, WIF representatives were invited as guests to the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. This, along with the WIF's presence at the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Rome on November 12th, have gone far to reinforce the WIF's international recognition. Reports of these, along with a transcript of the WIF's Kyrgyzstan speech, are in this newsletter on page 2 and page 3 respectively.
