This is Scientific Discovery which is the monthly publication for the members of the institute and the followers of the ORE-STEM development throughout the world. Towards the year 2000 the institute will set out the necessity and reasons to why we have to build the ORE complex for the benefit of mankind. This will take the form of international analysis and their comparison with the ‘Western’ economies and the emerging Asian economies together with an insight into the socio-economic implications for the advanced industrialised nations of the world.
Nuclear Expansion
It was stated this week in the international press that India’s new government is committed to developing a nuclear deterrent against their perceived threats of China and Pakistan.
News of the ORE-STEM Complex
HM Government’s DTI is now fully aware of the ORE-STEM complex proposals. Although they see the need to innovate, it is apparent from the INEED’s discussions that they do not look at the world’s emerging ‘big’ picture. Unfortunately for Britain there seems to be a total complacency about our emerging problems. Although the INEED has strongly voiced it’s opinion in a recent report to the DTI they still carry on trying the same old tricks that have never worked and never will do. They have apparently now become so accustomed to just managing a declining economy so well, that they have forgotten even how to start a big enough march back that will have an effect. Whilst Singapore is putting fibre optics into every home and business in the land and China, Malaysia, Taiwan and other SE Asian economies are setting-up their stalls for the 21st century by building immense industrial cities and creative products incubators, our government’s DTI is putting forward what they perceive as the major strategies to counteract this, such as setting up a ‘Web-page’. How anyone in their right mind can equate the strategy of building vast complex industrial cities with that of providing a web-page is beyond the comprehension of the editorial board of Scientific Discovery.Only in a matter of a few decades now, the government’s of Europe, the USA and the ‘Free’ world economies will feel the true force of their complacency through increasing disorder of the people in the ‘West’.Growing unemployment on a huge scale as markets switch to Asia to stay competitive, inequality of pay, a vastly expanding under privilege society
and a continual decline in the hope factor will fuel this sea of many islands scenario.When we ask therefore will our ‘Free’ world Government’s start to comprehend our emerging plight and begin to think in terms of our children’s future and what it will be like for them ?
Report to HM Government’s DTI (Department of Trade & Industry)
In February 1998 the INEED submitted to the DTI a Report that made known the good points of their strategy towards competitiveness, innovation and technology and the bad points. It is hoped that the DTI continues the dialogue with INEED members who are some of the most intellectually innovative people of modern times.In this respect the INEED sees that only by linking creative scientists with business in the 21st century will a nation survive and it’s people prosper. At present for some strange reason ‘Western’ business do not see a need for this! We would ask are they wearing blinkers, eye masks or is their management so happy with their present situation that they are so unaware of the emerging situation
in the outside world. Time again will tell !
